Newsletter - IoT Lab Berlin
In partnership with DFKI Saarbrücken, FH Dortmund and ZVEI we will open the Berlin IoT Laboratory for Smart Home/Building (SENSE-Lab) in May 2019.
The central component of the SENSE project is the establishment of an open and permanently operated IoT Lab as a manufacturer-neutral, pre-competitive laboratory environment. The IoT Lab offers the necessary space for practical work on changing topics (energy, safety, assistance and comfort) and in different professional compositions. It is the open space for technical discussions with various stakeholders.
What a wonderful E-world with many new contacts and and some fantastic use case workshops. We are looking forward to starting new projects and partnerships for smart cities, cool hardware, energy management and even industry. Many thanks to all supporters and visitors.
30. Fachgespräch Smart City, Leipzig/Berlin
Smart City expert talk about the "intelligent city" shows essential requirements for emerging infrastructure: We need understandable data from different infrastructures to enable service diversity. To achieve this, a number of basic requirements have to be met. This is exactly where connctd comes in.
VDE Tec Summit, Berlin
We want to describe the world in such a way that it is machine-readable and understood by humans - in this case by developers. The Service Developer does not want to deal with the data from the networked devices at the protocol level. He hasn't been used to this since the days of smartphone apps. We want to win developers for the scalable smart living applications.
Smart Energy Conference, Dortmund
APIs are developer-friendly when an application needs to understand only those parts of a data model that are necessary for its functionality. If the conventional class approach is split to the description of types and capabilities of the IoT-things, the complexity of an API is drastically reduced for the developer.
SENSE - Semantic, interoperable Smart Home. Today's smart home products and components usually only interact to a limited extent within the framework of predefined system environments. The universal use of sensors is usually not possible due to many different, partly manufacturer-specific interface standards. This complicates the design and market penetration of innovative applicationns.
Elevator Pitches, Berlin
IoT connected supports manufacturers and service providers in the development and implementation of data-based business ideas and business models.
We make it easier for them to handle data, devices, systems and various proprietary and third-party infrastructures.
Light + Building 2018, Frankfurt
Closed technologies and siloed products are still on the market, but most exhibitors are talking about interoperability and openness. That’s good and right and it is also our philosophy. We support our client KNX association preparing the future of KNX. KNX-IoT will open up the high quality home automation standard to the world of web services and it will connect to all relevant technologies. Till and Matze, both co-founder & senior developer of connctd will explain that with wonderful examples from different categories, e.g. entertainment, security/comfort and energy management.
Eworld 2018, Essen
Hypermotion 2017, Frankfurt
When institutions and companies make choices on their platforms, they frequently asked how we position ourselves relative to „Web of Things“ from W3C, tmForum or the reference architecture of the „Industrial Data Space“ (IDS) - the leading industry consortium around Industrie 4.0 in Germany. Our answer is simple and clear: we are fully compatible to all these initiatives and build on the same ideas and definitions. That is also why connctd is W3C and tmForum member and why we are actively engaged to promote open platform approaches around IoT in most leading initiatives and industry fora of our target industries.
Websummit 2017, Lisbon
Web summit 2017 in Lisbon is over. This was an amazing week with great discussions about different use cases in typical verticals, but also across verticals! We got valuable feedback from developers and we are going to improve our developer offering based on that as fast as possible. We made many new contacts to companies, VCs & journalists as well. In total, the best motivation to finish our sprints this year and to prepare the first sprints for 2018. Thanks to everybody!
ZVEI Kolloquium, Frankfurt
The IoT-world through developers eyes. It could be so simple to support developers to work with all that connected devices in a home/building, city or even with specific devices from specific verticals, e.g. medical, security, health, … devices. There is a simple model explaining capabilities with properties and actions, normalizing data, adding context information to semantically represent things on the internet across technologies. This model is realized as a cloud based “middleware” and supports different ontologies. A wonderful world … explained by Mathias Runge at “ZVEI-Kolloquium – Chancen und Herausforderungen systemübergreifender Interoperabilität” on Nov, 10th in Frankfurt.
Newsletter, IoT connctd, Berlin
connctd has the technology to make Europe the Digital Champion. We were excited to read the recent report from the leading telecoms trade organization in Europe, ETNO, together with Accenture. In „Lead or Lose“ they describe the foundational capabilities for Europe to lead on digitization and we couldn’t have described better what connctd is about as is laid out in the chapter on the open Platform for IoE (Internet of Everything).
Cebit 2017, Hannover
Togehter with ZVEI, we demonstrated one of the most important task for smart services at home. It all about Interoperability across technologies and the semantic representation of things and systems. With that basic description service developer will be enabled to create services for a smart living
Newsletter Iot connctd, Berlin
The first quarter is in full swing. Our focus in this first quarter is on partner projects and platform development. In the ongoing projects, we mainly support data driven applications within buildings. Thing abstraction and semantic representation are the most important technical catchwords! The announcement of the Wirtschaftsinitiative Smart Living at the ISH this week also suits this and connctd is involved in.
